CATHOLIC CHURCH – HOLY CROSS PARISH – CHARLEVILLE
       WELCOME

Hello! If you are newly resident in our parish, welcome! If you were born and reared in Charleville, you are blessed!

Charleville parish, as a faith community, enjoys a history that goes back into the distant past. It is dedicated to the Holy Cross. What mission and purpose does it have?

Our Catholic community would like to see itself totally at the service of the Kingdom of God by:

  • Bringing people closer to God through nourishment of the spirit and development of faith.
  • Recognising the Eucharist as the source and summit of Christian life when we pray and worship together.
  • Welcoming Jesus Christ into our lives and bearing witness to Christian values.
  • Commitment to an all-inclusive community where everyone in Charleville is valued, welcomed and equal, with a sense of belonging.

Our parish tries to achieve this aim by using the gifts and talents of people in our community, i.e. laity, priests and religious. Our Catholic schools and teachers give huge support to all parents in the education of their children. You can also in word and in action help to spread the Good News that God loves us and reveals himself in Jesus Christ. Many join our parish organisations.

A full order of services is on display in our Church. A Parish Newsletter is published every week in our Church. The priests would like you to make contact with them. No matter what Catholic Church your nationality links you to, we can always put you in contact with a priest who speaks your language.

Baptisms are usually celebrated on Sundays at 1.00pm, but other times can be arranged. If you are an adult and not baptised, but would like to join the Catholic Church, a study preparation course can be arranged for that purpose.

The priests in this parish are pleased to say “hello” to you and to let you know what our parish tries to provide in the way of service to the Catholic faithful. There is more to life than just work and play. People want us to speak about spiritual things and to show where God is in our lives.

A special Mass, for you and your family here, for your intentions and for all others in your area of the parish, known as a “Station Mass” will be celebrated in the Parish Church on an evening in October and again during Lent (March) annually. The next Station Mass for your area of the parish will be celebrated in the Church on Wednesday October 11th at 7.30pm
